Explorist 500:
It is a compact
handheld GPS device which lets you see your location in vivid colour. The Explorist 500 GPS supports unlimited data storage with support to an
external SD card. This makes it a simple procedure to add the latest detailed
maps, topographic maps or lake maps.
The device
shows maps in 16-colour and has 8 MB built-in maps with an extra 8 MB free space
available for downloading new maps. The Explorist 500 maps include the detailed maps of the USA and Canada. It
can be used for navigating on foot or car.
The device is
lightweight, rugged and waterproof which makes it perfect to be used in any
weather condition. It is also perfect for sports activities like whitewater
rafting, fishing, hunting, hiking. You can store up to 5 tracklogs, 500 points
of interests, 20 routes.
With the Explorist 500 software, you can also determine accurately
the distance between different saved Points Of Interests. It comes in quite
handy when going out for hiking. The software also provides you with other
convenient features like fishing spots, hunting spots, sun phase, moon phase,
rising and setting time.
If the device
memory is insufficient then the support for external memory cards proves handy
at that time. New maps can be sent to the device using the MapSend software. It
is available on a CD/DVD or you can download directly to your computer. After
downloading the software you can send it to the computer using the USB cable.
You need Explorist 500 drivers to send the maps. The drivers are installed in the
GPS device. If the drivers are outdated, you need to download the latest
drivers first and install it in the device.
